Meet the Gals

One warm summer day at a car show in 2021, Cherry Lee and Belle La Rouge were sitting and watching the great American flag rippling in the air while reflecting on stories told from local veterans. They felt strongly about doing something to make sure these heroes knew that their sacrifices were appreciated, especially in today's age. That's when the idea of creating a pin-up club to support local veterans and first responders was born. With it just being an idea with no real plan on how to make it happen, they jumped in feet first and said, "Let's do it!"

Libby

Libby is our mascot, short for Liberty, it's the definition embodying what a Liberty Gal represents.

She's intelligent, nice to everyone and will help anyone out. An independent and strong woman who is a leader. She makes sure nothing will put her down.

It also represents Virginia, the founding location for Liberty Gals. It features both Virginia's dogwood flowers and the beautiful blue ridge mountains. The frame is topped with the Statue of Liberty’s crown. Most importantly, the American flag can be seen proudly flying in the background to represent us all!

Unite. Support. Appreciate.

Cherry Lee

What is the meaning behind Cherry Lee's name? Cherry is from her beagle they adopted from the local SPCA. Her sweet, easy going & happy personality makes her friends with everyone she meets. She's the perfect personality of what a pin-up girl should be. Lee is a throw back to her childhood. It was part of her nickname Sara Lee given to her by grandfather. He would always ask if she brought her famous Sara Lee cakes!

Belle La Rouge

What is the meaning behind Belle La Rouge's name? Belle by definition is a woman whose charm and beauty make her a favorite. Her personality makes her the Belle of the ball or car show. Rouge means a red or pink cosmetic for coloring the cheeks or lips. Rouge pays homage to the red lipstick created by Elizabeth Arden. She was approached in 1940 to create a lipstick to perfectly match the red piping on women’s military uniforms. Thus women were issued an official military kit of matching “Montezuma Red” lipstick, blush and nail polish. Makeup was seen as a symbol for a free society worth defending. Also with Hitler's hatred for "made-up women" and red lipstick more and more women wore red lipstick as a sign of patriotism!
